"With heart-felt appreciation I commend Solid Ground Christian Books for bringing The Three Forms of Unity into a beautiful leather gift edition. I have long felt that The Heidelberg Catechism is one of the richest most comforting catechisms in Christian history. I have often turned to the first question and answer of that great catechism in my public teaching ministry, in the pastoral ministry of comforting the afflicted and as a personal help to my soul. Solid Ground Christian Books continues to lead the way in producing God-centered resources that are of such quality that they will last a life-time. I am very excited about The Three Forms of Unity which offers a great summary of the glorious theology of the Reformation. Get a copy for yourself and as a gift for others." - Ray Rhodes, Jr. is President of Nourished in the Word Ministries and author of Family Worship for the Reformation Season

First Question of the Heidelberg Catechism
|First Question of the Heidelberg Catechism
Question 1. What is thy only comfort in life and death?
Answer: That I with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong unto my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ; who, with his precious blood, has fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation, and therefore, by his Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me sincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him.
